About

The Kogi State Judiciary plays a crucial role in upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice for all citizens within the state. Comprising various judicial divisions such as the High Court, Customary Court, and Magistrates Courts, the judiciary works tirelessly to promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the legal system. By providing a fair and impartial platform for resolving disputes, the judiciary upholds the principles of justice and ensures that citizens’ rights are protected.

Leading the Kogi State Judiciary is Justice Josiah Joe Majebi, the current Chief Judge. Appointed by Governor Yahaya Bello on February 4, 2023, Justice Majebi brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to maintaining judicial integrity. Prior to his appointment as Chief Judge, he served as the Acting Chief Judge starting from June 17, 2022. Justice Majebi has implemented various initiatives, including establishing directorates, units, and welfare programs for judiciary staff, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the state judiciary.
